    • The Raiders are expected to release...

The Raiders are expected to release Pryor if they are unable to trade him by Monday, FOX Sports' Alex Marvez reports.

Analysis: There's likely a fair amount of interest in Pryor as a project and novelty athletic quarterback, but the fact that he's not perceived as a potential starter means the Raiders might have trouble getting anything in a trade, especially since everyone knows they'll cut Pryor otherwise. If the Raiders don't select a quarterback high in the draft, they'll likely head into 2014 with Matt Schaub and Matt McGloin as their top two passers.

Contract talks between the 49ers and Kaepernick are reportedly on hold for now, reports.

Analysis: The report indicates that the two sides would like to get a deal done before the start of the 2014 regular season, with Matt Maiocco of suggesting that the 49ers are inclined to hold off on expediting an extension with the quarterback while police look into what has been described as a "suspicious incident" (allegedly involving Kaepernick, teammate Quinton Patton and Seattle's Ricardo Lockette) in Miami earlier this month. The 26-year-old Kaepernick finished the 2013 season with 3,197 passing yards, 21 touchdowns, eight interceptions and a 91.6 passer rating in 16 games for the 49ers. He also recorded 524 rushing yards (on 92 carries) with four rushing touchdowns.

Meachem signed a one-year deal with the Saints on Friday.

Analysis: After a disappointing season with the Chargers, Meachem returned to the Saints for 2013, where he caught 16 passes for 324 yards and two scores. His utility to the Saints is based largely on his blocking ability as a receiver, leaving him with minimal fantasy value. Meachem is too far down on the Saints' depth chart to warrant much fantasy consideration, although he remains a threat to score any week in an offense led by QB Drew Brees.

    • Smith is not expected to have...

Smith is not expected to have his fifth-year contract option picked up by the 49ers, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Analysis: Smith remains under contract through 2014, but the 49ers have until May 3 to pick up his team option through 2015, and it appears as though they have no intention to do so. In the wake of his most recent arrest, uncertainty surrounds the linebacker's availability for the start of 2014, so it's not overly surprising that the team is not inclined to pick up the option.

The addition of Chris Johnson would appear to bump Powell down a notch on the Jets' RB depth chart, the Star-Ledger reports.

Analysis: Following the signing of Johnson, most of the fantasy buzz centers around the prospects of the Jets rolling primarily with with a backfield combo of Johnson and Chris Ivory this coming season. In such a scenario, Powell would serve in a depth capacity, with renewed fantasy relevance in 2014, an injury away.
